Have any question?
Based on the Government Regulation No. 16 of 2021, Persetujuan Bangunan Gedung ("PBG") replaces IMB (Izin Mendirikan Bangunan) as a Building Approval for construction activities purposes.
PBG is a mandatory permit which is required for anyone intending to build a new building, renovate an existing building, or revamp a building. Unlike its predecessor IMB, PBG can be applied after the construction of a building commences, provided that the progress of the construction is not more than 50% (fifty percent). In this case, the building owner can build directly, but during the course of construction must report the functionality and feasibility of the building and must adhere to the spatial layout of the area where it is being built. Therefore, PBG can be applied during the construction of the building by complying to the standards set by the government authorities.
IS IMB STILL VALID?
Despite IMB had been replaced by PBG as permits for building/ construction activities, the previous IMB which had been issued prior to the new Job Creation Law remains valid.
