KITAP
KITAP or Permanent Stay Permit is a document granted to foreigners who had been living in Indonesia for at least 5 (five) consecutive years. In order to be eligible for applying a KITAP, foreigners must have hold a KITAS (Limited Stay Permit) at first.
Foreigners who are eligible to get a KITAP:
- Foreigners with an Indonesian Spouse (Spousal KITAP)
- Foreign investors, directors, or commissioners in Indonesian company (Investor KITAP)
- Foreigners intending to retire in Indonesia (Retirement KITAP)
- Ex-Indonesian citizens intend to regain their citizenship
Spousal KITAP
Spousal KITAP is a KITAP granted to foreigners who are married to Indonesian citizens. Holders of Spousal KITAS can convert their KITAS into a Spousal KITAP. Spousal KITAP has validity of 5 years with unlimited extension. KITAP can only be obtained if you have had KITAS before, therefore if you wish to apply for a Spousal KITAP you must have had a Spousal KITAS first. Spousal KITAS holders can convert their KITAS to be a KITAP after 2 years of marriage.

Investor KITAP
Investor KITAP is a KITAP granted to foreign investors who hold shares in an Indonesian company. Investor KITAP can only be granted if the relevant foreign investor has hold Investor KITAS for 4 (four) consecutive years. The validity of Investor KITAP is 5 years. It can be renewed indefinitely. Foreign investors are eligible for Investor KITAP, if:
- A shareholder who serves as a Director of Indonesian company with shareholding value of at least Rp1,000,000,000.00 (one billion Rupiah) or equivalent to USD; or
- A shareholder who does not serve as a Director of Indonesian company with shareholding value of at least Rp10,000,000,000.00 (ten billion Rupiah) or equivalent to USD

- Company Documents (Articles of Associations, Approval Letter from Minister of Law and Human Rights, ID Tax Number, NIB and Business License)
- Current Investor KITAS

Retirement KITAP
Retirement KITAP is a KITAP granted to foreigners who wish to spend their retirement in Indonesia. To apply for this KITAP, you must be over 55 (fifty) years old, and this KITAP cannot be used for work in Indonesia. Retirement KITAP valid for 5 (five) years and extendable. Foreigners who had a Retirement KITAS can convert their KITAS to KITAP after 4 (four) consecutive years of holding a retirement KITAS.
